The Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI) proudly announced the winners of the 2025 FPI Awards at its prestigious Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, held on the evening of 3 November 2025 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
Hosted during the annual FPI Professional’s Convention, the Awards recognise exceptional individuals and practices that exemplify excellence, integrity, and dedication within the financial planning profession.

2025 FPI Financial Planner of the Year Award
Winner: Nicola Langridge, CFP®
The most prestigious honour in the financial planning profession, this award recognises a CFP® professional who demonstrates outstanding technical ability, professional integrity, and client-centred financial planning. Nicola Langridge, Wealth Manager at Private Client Holdings, was celebrated for her holistic, goals-based approach to wealth management and her passion for empowering clients through financial literacy.
2025 Professional Practice of the Year Award
Winner: Ascor® Independent Wealth Managers
This award recognises an FPI-Approved Professional Practice that upholds the highest standards of ethics, innovation, and service excellence. Ascor® Independent Wealth Managers was acknowledged for its integrated wealth-management model and its commitment to delivering purpose-driven, independent advice to clients.

2025 FPI Harry Brews Award
Winner: Kirsty Scully, CFP®
Named in honour of the late Harry Brews, this award recognises an individual who has made a lifelong and significant contribution to the financial planning profession. Former FPI Chairperson Kirsty Scully, CFP®, was honoured for her leadership, mentorship, and enduring dedication to advancing professional standards in financial planning.

2025 FPI Diversity and Inclusion Award
Winner: Stian de Witt, CFP®
This award celebrates individuals who have made a meaningful impact in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the profession. Stephanus de Witt, CFP®, was recognised for his continued efforts to create a more inclusive and representative financial planning community in South Africa.

2025 FPI “It Starts with Me” Award
Winner: Katlego Mei, CFP®
Launched in 2015, this award honours a CFP® professional who embodies the spirit of professionalism and advocacy for the financial planning profession. Katlego Mei, CFP®, was recognised for actively championing the CFP® designation and inspiring others to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.

2025 CFP® PCE Candidate Award
Winner: Anza Masia, CFP®
This award recognises the top performer in the CFP® Professional Competency Examination (PCE), a key milestone toward earning the CFP® designation. Anza Masia’s achievement reflects exceptional technical knowledge and professional readiness.

2025 CFP® Financial Plan Assessment Award
Winner: Verusha Naidoo, RFP®
This award honours excellence in the Financial Plan Assessment, a crucial step in the CFP® certification process. Verusha Naidoo, RFP®, was commended for her exceptional ability to craft comprehensive, client-focused financial plans that reflect true professional competence.

A night of recognition and inspiration
The Gala Dinner was the highlight of the two-day FPI Professionals Convention, attended by financial planners, advisors, industry leaders, educators, and regulators. The evening showcased the achievements of those who have gone above and beyond to uphold the values of professionalism, ethical conduct, and client-first service.
Lelané Bezuidenhout CFP®, CEO of the FPI, received the FPSB Noel Maye award for outstanding contribution to the profession. This prestigious international award recognises exceptional leadership, advocacy, and service to advancing the financial planning profession worldwide.
Under Lelané’s leadership, FPI has reached significant milestones — including surpassing 5,000 CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals in South Africa, a testament to her vision of elevating financial planning standards and consumer trust. Her continued involvement in the FPSB global network as Chair of the Chief Executives Committee and a member of the FPSB Council reflects her deep commitment to collaboration, mentorship, and global excellence.
